House calls are recommended for birds and exotic animals that are difficult to transport. Examples include birds that are not used to being handled, and large species such as miniature pigs. House calls are ideal for larger collections of animals, such as breeding facilities, aviaries, and fish ponds. House calls are also helpful when a pet’s environment needs to be examined.
House calls may not be appropriate for addressing all animal problems. If your pet is exhibiting signs of serious illness, an office visit may be advised. In our hospital, many tests and treatments are possible that are not practical or safe to perform in the field. When scheduling your appointment, please ask a staff member to recommend which type of appointment would be best for your pet.
